I had an awesome day at clinical last week. This was possible because I was not on the floor with my instructor. I got to spend the day in the ER instead. I thought I would hate it, but I had a blast. I got to start 4 IVs, and the best part is that 3 of them worked! I drew lots of blood and gave a shot in someone's butt. We went to the panel discussion on campus about earthquake preparedness stuff last night. I was bribed with 4 bonus points on my next test and Michael accompanied me out of the kindness of his heart. I got along better with my instructor last week, I hardly spoke to her and I certainly didn't ask any questions. It worked out fine. Today at clinical I was informed that I am "Rebellious." Yet again because I was trying to clarify something she said that made no sense. I didn't argue, or even put her on the spot. I have the day off from one of my clinicals. For some strange reason the nursing school is actually doing something nice that even makes sense for their students. How odd. It's four weeks into the semester and I'm still adjusting. I've been in summer school mode so I have to keep reminding myself to chill out. My schedule is awesome this time around. Finished OB last friday. Overall it was a good class and clinical. I enjoyed the baby part of it (of course!). I think that postpartum would be a really great place to work, although I think labor and delivery would be fun too ( Read more... )

I'm about midway through my OB rotation. I've had one really lousy day, one kinda crappy day, a pretty good day and a great day in clinical so far. I've gotten to see several C-sections and one normal delivery. I got the short end of the stick on normal deliveries, but I at least got to see one. I even got to see twins delivered!
