Florence in the Fall!!!
Yay! I have registered for the Janet Arnold conference that will be in Florence! Costume Textiles
They are only allowing 250 to register for the conference. So far I know of at least 4 other friends that are going, including some of my NY friends that I don't get to see very often. I've been looking at hotels vs apts vs hostels trying to decide ( Read more... ) -
Children's Car Seats

Marguerite is still in a 5 point harness, and her current car seat should be good for a while. I'm not sure what the set up is for the seat when she gets above 40 lbs (the seat is supposed to be good until 100 lbs as it converts to a booster).

Missing Ymir yesterday was hard but definitely the right decision. I'm still not sure what bug I had, viral bronchitis or the flu. I'm hoping that Miss M hasn't gotten sick, but it's obvious that something's not right.

Dyeing failure
I scored a bunch of wool at Joann's last week ($2.50/yd - bought all I could find; so much for NY's resolutions!) in various colors, including tan. Since I will be MoLing at Ymir, I want a Viking coat to keep me toasty. The tan didn't inspire me on its own, plus was a fairly loose weave.
