Last weekend I experienced my craziest adventures in Southeast Asia thus far. I left Singapore on Wednesday evening, bound for Bali via Johor Bahru, Malaysia and Jakarta, Indonesia. Everything feels so surreal these days. I returned to Singapore yesterday after a 4-day whirlwind tour of Manila, where I played tour guide for a group of 10 of my EAP friends. How fitting that my wishes to travel have fully manifested themselves on my day of birth. After waking up on a boat in Ha Long Bay, Vietnam and sailing to shore, we proceeded to take a 3 hour bus ride back to Hanoi. 20+ hours of traveling and finally I'm here in Singapore. I just spent my first full day out and about with my Tito and Tita, soaking in the humidity on Orchard Road. Despite that, it's very comfortable here. Yes, it is very clean and, yes, you can chew gum. Driving on the left side of the road, however, is really throwing me off.
