Cat-foo: Had Keats back for glucose check twice; we seem to have found the right dosage, and can hope to be done with that for a while. He's still looking a bit scrawny, but has been gaining weight back. I've become quite blase about the twice-daily injections, sneaking bags of syringes into the Biohazard Sharps containers at work.

Haven't really regained my rhythm--if I ever had one--since cat-foo last week.

Had a wonderful, girly evening on Friday at the embroidery meeting, which was really about seeing Pren while she was in town for the Jane Austen event on Saturday. Did about 12 stitches of embroidery, admired Pren and Cecelia's Regency gowns, drank the very good birthday ( Read more... )

When Thomas got home this evening, Keats was laying out on the bed. Thomas got him a dish of catfood (that he scarfed down like a teenager), and gave him an insulin shot while he was eating (that he didn't even seem to notice). I've been to the West for 12th Night, finished a linen camecia, had a colonoscopy and an endrimetrial biopsy, taken a cat to the vet three times (so far) for diabetes, gotten in the last of the Christmas shopping, been to household 12th Night (17th Night), held a Company of Clothiers meeting, and finished two books ( Read more... )

I grew up reading the Flashman books. (It was a strange adolescence.) I read the McAuslan books over and over in college. Loved The Pyrates. And his Musketeers (Michael York, Richard Chamberlain, Oliver Reed, Frank Finlay) were my generation's Musketeers, and still the best ones ever.

Will break into Thomas's single malt tonight in tribute.
