Man, I'm cranky before I have my coffee. I was climbing out of bed, and finding my bathrobe on my way to go pee, when Dale jumps out of bed and steals the bathroom. I was annoyed. Oscar Party, My house, Sunday, 8:00. The show starts at 8:30. Bring dollars, as we'll bet on 5 categories: Best Picture, Best Actor/Actress, and Best Supporting Actor/Actress, with a maximum bet of a dollar per category!

Party shuts down immediately following last award in our pool, as I do have to work at 5 the next morning!

Ok. The potatoes were fantastic. Easily the best au gratin potatoes I've ever made (although to be fair, I've only made them a couple times before. They were So Cheesy...) And already I'm getting excited about dinner! We're having Breaded Pork Chops, first dredged in flour/salt/pepper, then egg, then seasoned bread crumbs. They'll fry in a skillet for a few minutes on each side, and finish on a rack in my roasting pan to stay crispy. Accompianing them will be home-made Potatoes Au Gratin. Dale was bummed out that he didn't get around to getting us dinner reservations somewhere. So our Valentine's Day dinner was pizza, at home, while we assembled the furniture. It was great. Very productive day off. I went to the bank, did my grocery shopping, bought a new comforter (on clearance for $30) cleaned my kitchen, living room, bedroom, fridge, bathroom. Laundry is wrapping up, I turned a chicken carcass into delicious smelling soup for dinner tonight, I took a bath and shaved my legs, and generally felt good about life ( Read more... )

I must have my body trained, because after 4 days of getting up Way Too Early, I couldn't sleep in today. I was ping! awake at 5. I snuggled up to Dale, trying to fall back to sleep. No dice. Where should I start? I got up with Dale, had my coffee, sent him off to work. I cleaned the bathtub (finally!) did some laundry (whicn NEVER ends) and ate breakfast.
