I know it's crazy but I've lived in SF for 12 years now and never made the short trip to Las Vegas. Well I finally did make it there this past weekend - and here's some random thoughts.

1) OMG - I've never seen so much free parking in my life.

For what it's worth - my Apple-ranting generated more comments than anything else I've written in ages. Like Madonna - love ‘em or hate ‘em, they are eminently discussable.

Just for the record - I don't blindly hate Apple. In fact, quite the opposite. I am in awe of them. Apple continually screws its core customer base and yet they beg for more. They have so successfully marketed a superiority complex (overpay for our products or you'll be like that geeky PC guy in our commercials) that what I consider to be otherwise ( Read more... )

Oh look - The iPhone got around to adding incredibly basic features like 'cut and paste' and MMS and all you have to do to get them is SPEND $300 MORE DOLLARS ON A NEW COMPLETELY NEW PHONE. Is it just me - or are these 'upgrades' pretty obviously software based and therefore should be incredibly easy to make available to all of your current ( Read more... )

Just got back from IML to hear the (unsurprising) decision of the Cali Supreme Court denying equal marrige rights to LGBT's. Maybe it's just the timing, but the two events seem inter-related in my mind. The question I'm struggling with is, right or wrong, how much does an event like IML contribute to our being denied equal rights under the law ( Read more... )
