Yesterday, I worked 13½ hours with three hours of sleep coming off a previous day of working eight hours.  By that, I worked Saturday night 4-12, and Sunday, I worked 9:30 am-11 pm.  The reason for that long shift was from picking up someone else's shift in addition to working my own.  I anticipated the hellish day, but I could not fall asleep on ( Read more... )

I’ve been on a pretty messed up sleep schedule lately because of my work schedule.  I typically work from 5-12 at night five days a week, and I tend to sleep until I have to go to work.  I don’t really have any reason to get up earlier than 4:30.  When I get home from work, I typically stay up playing games, sitting on my computer, and being bored. I just finished my fifth week of student teaching, and I still have around nine more weeks to go.  Overall, it’s an enjoyable experience, despite the notable handicap of not being paid to do the same job that my teacher does to make $600 a week.  I teach all of his classes, grade papers, make lessons, and run the class as if he wasn’t even there.  ( Read more... )
