I got my stress test results yesterday. Well, unofficially, anyway. My dialysis nurse requested a copy for my chart, and we went over it together. Wasn't really sure what the specifics meat, but since the results all started with the word 'normal', I suspect they're good news. I'm empty, and it feels weird
I have no dialysis fluid in my peritoneum right now. It feels weird, but odd. I guess I had gotten used to the constant pressure on my innards, and now that it's gone it's REALLY nice. (Although I slouch more - apparently I sat up straighter to keep all the fluid from digging into my ribs.)
Waiting for Mom to come pick me up. I'm hungry. -

I (finally) got my appointment with the Psychiatrist - Au 9. Nothing sooner. That means no transplant this summer. :( -

Part 1 of the monthly dialysis appointment today. The 'protocols' have changed recently, so apparently I'm getting iron treatments every month now. I'm hopeful this makes my fatigue issues better ( Read more... ) -

I think I've figured out the root of my ambivalence about a transplant. I keep getting told 'it will change your life!', and it's suck a common statement used by just about anyone pitching something that I automatically distrust it. Some people are disgusting
During Flu season, when the new reporters are telling us how to survive the flu, they always say 'frequent handwashing'. And I always roll my eyes, and think 'that's a no-brainer'. Until now. Tpday's transplant news...
Today I got tired of waiting for the transplant coordinator taking her sweet time to call me, and called her again. This time I actually reached her instead of her voice mail. That not normal pap smear? Yeah, it's an issue. They'll be sending a clearance letter to my doctor. I'm supposed to be hearing about the sppointment with the psychiatrist ( Read more... ) -

I saw a cardiologist yesterday in preparation for my stress test o Friday. He also wants to do a carotid ultrasound, so that's been booked for a week from now. And he suggested I have this done regularly - the ultrasound once a year, the stress test every couple years. Gotta love being diabetic ( Read more... ) -
Decisions
I got the letter from the transplant hospital officially notifying me that I'm on hold on the transplant list. No surprise there - but it only reminds me I really need to make a decision ( Read more... )
