See, that's pretty much how I feel. Personally, I vote because I believe that my one vote might make a change. It's my preference. I don't look down on people who don't vote. It's their choice.
Your one vote might make a change, and you're entitled to your preference, Andrea. My problem with the process is that making a change for yourself is fine; imposing one on others is not, and that's exactly what voting does.
Can't say I agree with your decision, but it's certainly your right to--or rather, not to. Unlike me, whose vote they tried to take away this morning. Suddenly the phrase "Vote... while you still have one" no longer seems trite or snide to me anymore.
I consider voting a responsibility, although I have been known to not vote in individual races when both candidates have turned me off. Never missed one, not even an odd-year primary. Barring accidents, never will miss one.
