Jordi Savall and Hesperion XXI were amazing, even though it was only four people today. However, Shriver Hall was probably the worst possible venue for this concert. Luckily, I got to move up closer after intermission, which made it much better.

I had a very weird dream this morning, which I wrote down, but will probably not write about here.

I am done with school on Friday; spring break. Jordi Savall's concert is on Sunday and I'm so excited. I hope I get to meet him and talk to him in Spanish. After that, I'm going to Florida for the week, on Monday, where I'll probably do nothing, since I a)basically have no friends there, b)live in a shitty suburb and c)don't know how to drive. Let me just say that being a total outsider has its pros and cons. Sometimes I feel like the friend that people have when their other friends aren't looking. Am I really such an annoying embarrassment?

Thursday Noon today went very well. The music was awesome, and I think the total improvization on the Valente Gagliarda Napolitana (with an awesome keyboard player also improvizing on the virginal) was a success. Today went alright, although the 2 hour wind anschluss rehearsal for Johan de Meij's Symphony No. 2 was brutal. Renaissance ensemble rehearsal was very comfortable, and I no longer am so down on myself about my recorder playing. I am really excited about playing Thursday noon this week ( Read more... )
