More dissertation related musings. I was reading on the evolution of user interfaces(UI) and it may radically change the way a machine is used. Taking an old example of "Men In Black" whereby the controls for the car was replaced by a gold playstation stick. I'm not a mechanic, but I would think that mechanically it is possible. Masters
Part of my masters course is writing a delightfully academic thesis to be scrutinised by the system. My idea for the paper is to incorporate game design theories into work. My reasoning is that if people can spend hours playing a game, they could very well do the same for work, as the physical aspects of both are pretty much the same ( Read more... ) -
Remake
Clicking on the rarely used livejournal button brings me to the new features available to LJ. So tinkering with it at the moment and hopefully, post more in the future about stuff. -
The end of an era
My subscription to WoW ends today. It's been 3 years since the short lock started his life and he has gone through a fair bit of stuff. While browsing through my unsorted and messy screenshots folder, there are just *so* many screenshots of things that I remembered in the game. Recently, there was a store wide 20% discount at play-asia.com. This included their Wii set which I had been eyeing ever since they stocked it. After the discount, the set came up to about 1,100 which is pretty darned cheap considering one of the shops I've seen mark it up to 2,300 ( Read more... ) -

Got sent to a creative arts conference for the past couple of days. Rather eye opening to see our local talents showcasing their stuff and sharing the development process.
Best of all, the main attraction was a guy named Joe Hasaishi, from Studio Ghibli. He presented well over 3 hours worth of material from the storyboarding of Whispers of the ( Read more... ) -
I am now a tree.
I think that's what the critter is making me out to be. The problem is that I'm not made of wood. He's jumping from limb to limb, like what squirrels do. Sometimes, he doesn't land properly but that's made up for the fact that he has fine fine razor sharp claws.

Downswing
Sigh, car got hit while it's parked outside :\ Hit and run. Gonna cost me a few hundred bucks to fix the bumper. The angle that it was hit seems to suggest that it's someone that parks at that area as well. Could be a neighbour.
Gotta keep an eye out for any cars with broken lights since there's glass on the floor and none of my lights are broken
