This morning, I waited for the bus longer than I usually do: The bus was on time, but I'm used to having it come about 5 minutes early. When the bus got there, it hurtled up to me, as if it hadn't seen me, and stopped about 5 feet ahead of me so that I had to run. The driver apologized as I got on. In a discussion about the naming of things, and the idea that there is an ideal chair, somewhere, and each earthly chair is a terrible knockoff of the ideal. There was some discussion on whether changing what you call something changes the way you perceive it, or what it is.

Oh Tom Waits, whenever I think I'm getting tired of your music, I listen to another one of your albums, and I fall in love all over again.

In light of the huge blizzard that has already incapacitated nearly half of North America, we were told that there was a very real chance that the university would be closed.

I find it incredibly fitting that, while the University of Waterloo remains open, Laurier decided to close. 

 We were walking along a main street. We came up to a side street and started across. A car driving down the main street was turning right, and had to brake suddenly because he hadn't slowed down to make the turn. He honked at us.
