The Italian Wedding Soup turned out great, most of it is frozen in tupperware for later use. The recipe made about 40 meatballs for the soup which, after spooning the soup into individual serving bowls, I felt was an awful lot of meatballs. Especially considering they are not bite sized. I remember the care free days when a mid-week holiday meant a day of frivolity. And now I use it as an opportunity to get done the more mundane chores that I've been putting off for months. I've decided to scale back my ambitiousness in the kitchen after a few failed efforts. Time to retreat to safe ground where I know I won't screw up to bolster my confidence. I cook. I cook a lot and I cook fairly well. I do not bake. Apparently. We celebrated my mom's birthday very late this year and she decided she wanted a toffee gooey butter cake I saw Paula Dean make a few weeks ago on tv. Wow, the Rachael Ray pizza dough worked out _great_! Best pizza I've ever made. Plus there were plenty of left-over toppings for a few french bread pizzas _and_ a hearty spaghetti sauce. Yum! Well the show ended after two highly successful weekends. We even got a standing ovation on 2 nights. Set strike didn't take nearly as long as I feared it would and they fed us pizza after which was nice. And now I have a fairly clean palette of weeknights with which to cook to my heart's content.
