I've got a few minutes before I need to go to pick up the young one from holiday club. She only goes back to school on Monday. I still can' t start on a new line with the LJ app on the tablet. Book cravings
Looks like the next Jasper Fforde for adults, Early Riser, has been pushed back another year. It's a bit frustrating but if Jasper says it's not ready yet, he knows better. I've pre-ordered it on Kindle ages ago so I'll definitely get it when it comes out. I've only bought the ebook because I want to get the paperback, but I want to read the book ( Read more... ) -

How much would you pay for...
We've heard from the electrician-gas-engineer. They've quoted us £1,000 to pull up some floor boards, find a cable and extend it, move a switch and install another one that we'll use when we have the money to buy an extractor fan to put over the cooker and change the fuse board. I have no idea if it's a reasonable price or not. Any thought? -

France
I posted a test post but I'm not sure it worked....
We're in France and R is on his way to join us. We've missed him and it will be a great relief to have him with us.
We've been to Normandy with my mum and aunt and cousin and it was pretty much as i expected (dull and uninspiring. More on that later).

It's (still) alive!
G gave me an orchid a while back. I think I've had it longer than a year, possibly two. It had flowers on when it came into the house but they withered and fell off. I looked for recommendations and chopped off the stalk that had carried the flowers right at the base and kept on looking after it. I knew they need water, but not too much, and they ( Read more... )
