'Making biscuits' refers to that kneading action a kitten does. They initially do it on their mother when they're very young to get milk, but can continue to do so when they're older as kind of a reflex that means "I'm happy and safe." It does NOT refer to poop! This video perfectly articulates every frustration I ever had with Super Mario Bros. It's long, but so, so good. As one wisely commented, the whole thing is like a nihilistic metaphor for life.
