All the extra patrolling is certainly somewhat draining. It's odd, because you find yourself being tired but then I've been getting home at the end of shifts and not been able to get to sleep at all. I can't decide whether it would be better to try and stay awake until I'm tired or just to try and force myself to sleep.

There's something very odd going on at the moment. The atmosphere is very strange. I don't like it.

Looking after a group of students and making sure they don't do anything stupid is much more tiring than you'd expect it to be. There's a lot to do.

Still, it won't be long till term starts and I'm sure you'd all rather be with your friends at the castle than all packed in here at any rate.

Ugh, I'm so ill. Really, I feel disgusting. I have, like, a cough/cold headache/fever and stuffy nose all at once. I can't even sit up in bed without feeling dizzy. Dawlish isn't going to be very happy with me - I've only called in sick once before and already he thinks I'm a malingerer. Bastard.

Well, it seems that we now have an explanation for this business of Dad wanting to give me money. Or at least, an explanation in part.
