I don't know where to start with regards to this weekend's bout. I had some pretty gnarly butterflies en route and while setting up the track, but as soon as my skates were on I felt fine. Yesterday morning's "Freeze Your Gizzard" cross-country 5k was awesome, especially compared to the Vet's Day 10k from last weekend. I didn't feel like I was running at all, more like gliding - even going uphill. I improved on my last 5k time, completing the race in a little over 29 minutes. Good: helped LB reach 1,178 words for his high school commencement speech. He is quoting S.E. Hinton and Jay-Z. The phrases "African war drums" and "tug boat through dark waters to sunny beaches" are used. Yesterday I snapped a couple gnarly bee pictures. All that graduation hoopla was pretty well done. Our commencement speaker, Robert Gates, was better than I expected. I snapped a picture of the back of Sandra D's head.
