Day 2: XI

Welcome back, dear readers. Are you ready for more absurdity? More ATTACK OF THE CAPSLOCK KEY? More abuse of html tags because not enough ways to express my raaaaage?!?!?!?! Then you are ready to follow the cut for the latest bits of fuckery as she writes the log opening.

So it's finally time to start the RP. She's quiet for a bit, which is understandable as she's writing. Except then I get this:

[redacted]: Oh yeah, does Rasu have a surname?

Izumiz Angel: Itsuki

[redacted]: He's Japanese? *blinks* XD I'm dense, apparently.

No-- well.... yes. But what I was going to say was that in truth, you just never cared to find out. In fact, this is the first initiative you’ve taken in finding out ANYTHING about him, after all our hours of workshopping and just shortly before it was your job to introduce him within the post-- thus making his last name necessary information for you.

And don't think I missed that passive-aggressive swipe conveying your dissatisfaction with this ethnicity choice for a redhead with blue eyes, either. "*blinks* XD I'm dense, apparently" carries with it the understood because surely this isn't a stupid and illogical choice of your making. Subtle shaming tactic at work, like I'm supposed to feel guilty and worried and stupid for ever conjuring such a ridiculous notion.

WELL IT'S NOT FLYING THIS TIME, BABY. I have my wits about me now.

Izumiz Angel: Well, I can understand why that wouldn't be assumed, since I told you he has red hair and blue eyes, which are hardly Japanese characteristics. But since I created him for RP within anime universes that's generally an accepted suspension of disbelief, and since we're doing an AU Japan anyway, I don't see why we can't adapt for that as well. He's half-Japanese, technically.

OH YEAH, OH YEAH, HERE'S ME BEING ASSERTIVE AND CONFIDENT AND POINTING OUT HOW STUPID IT WOULD BE TO PROTEST THIS BEFORE YOU HAVE A CHANCE. LOOK AT ME AND MY BAD SELF. THREE, count 'em THREE justifications for why naturally red hair and blue eyes despite being Japanese is perfectly acceptable.

[redacted]: XD Okay, no problem.
[redacted]: Well, there's always hair dye and/or funky new tech that can alter things like eye color. ;-)

................

WTF?!?!?!?!?! YOU JUST SAID "Okay, no problem." "Okay, no problem" means NOT A PROBLEM!!!! It means ISSUE RESOLVED, MOVING ON.

Izumiz Angel: *Snerks* I've never been fond of the idea of hair dye XD

[redacted]: Fun new tech, then? XD

OH MY GOD FUCK YOU!!!!

I can’t believe you can be all for going AU for the sake of butchering the Japanese culture and yet don’t want to stray into anything like AU possibilities for physical appearance! Your ENTIRE CHARACTER is based off a goddamn PICTURE YOU FOUND SHINY. My character's appearance can be based off something FROM THE VERY SAME CULTURE THAT I FIND SHINY. DEAL WITH IT.

Izumiz Angel: Is there some problem with it just being genetic? ^^;

[redacted]: Nope. :-)

THEN WHY ARE YOU CONTINUING TO ARGUE ABOUT THIS?!?!?!?!?!?!

Izumiz Angel: I'd prefer to do that then. ^^

[redacted]: Alright, that's cool.

THANK YOU. NOW YOU JUST SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP AND STAY THAT WAY, BECAUSE IT IS NOT YOUR DECISION WHAT MY CHARACTER LOOKS LIKE AND WHY. HE'S MY CHARACTER. MINE. GOT THAT? MINE. AS IN NOT YOURS! DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT DIFFERENCE? I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO ASSERT MYSELF THREE TIMES FOR AN ACCEPTANCE OF SOMETHING YOU HAVE NO RIGHTFUL SAY IN TO BEGIN WITH!

Jesus Christ, this pisses me off SO MUCH looking back now. I was inexcusably over-accommodating for her character that was full of shit stereotypes, contradictions and outright laziness, and she has the gall to take issue with my character having red hair and blue eyes? GDIF!!!!

The other thing I'm finding deeply ironic here is that her big excuse for NO FANDOM CHARACTERS is that she didn't trust the other mun to play them ICly. She's a "canon nazi"-- even when she can't possibly know whether what she's seeing is accurate. In other words, "I'm presuming from the start that you aren't good enough to do it well. I have no grounds on which to base this presumption, but I am unwilling to let you even try to prove me wrong." This mentality is offensive enough in its own right.

But for all her whining about how there's no way I could possibly play a fandom character ICly, you'll notice that through ALL of the chat from before-- and still now-- she has done everything in her power to PREVENT me from playing Rasu ICly. She has totally ignored and discarded EVERYTHING about him as she tries to reshape him into who she wants me to play and not who he actually is. First she ignored the character profile to try to argue what role he'd have in the game. Then she tried to tell me how he ought to treat Yuna. Then she assumed he'd be attracted to Yuna and not what I told her he'd be attracted to-- which happened to be the complete opposite of Yuna.

Now here she is unable to even let me have autonomy over his physical appearance without putting up a stink!

I suspect what she actually meant about her "OCs only" rule is that she expects her RP buddy to play sadistic rapist bastards. She recognizes most fandom characters would have to be taken very, very OOC for that to happen. So she thinks it'll be easier to warp someone's OC into that type instead.

Anyway, enough of that. Next time, we'll see just how AWESOMELY TALENTED OMG!!! she is to warrant this condescending attitude towards all of us other writers who are so audacious as to believe we could EVER have a hope of competence with a character not of our own creating.
