I know the secretary in the business school at Chapel Hill. (she's a swinger too). She just told me that I'm a top candidate for their position! Of course, things change, but good news regardless.

Tomorrow, my wife is having surgery. Having one's tonsils removed at 31 years of age is not a pretty sight. 8-10 day recovery. I'll be father, mother, and doctor for the rest of my Spring Break. I hope everything goes well and that she has a quick recovery. I'm not looking forward to it, and I know she is definitely apprehensive. Wish us well.

Yea! Both interviews are now done. I don't have to play host anymore and pay for lunches/dinners out of pocket (to be reimbursed later -- probably weeks later). I even played real estate agent today and drove the candidate around to various parts of town. Man, it's tiring being the head of the search committee. As if I didn't have enough to do....

So the Dean eventually put everything on his credit card. Guess how much the plane ticket was since things got all fouled up and nothing was done until now? Go ahead, guess. It was $730. Out of this world. That's coming out of the dean's budget, so I know he's not happy.
