I've mentioned that in the middle of all this Early Intervention crap we're doing for Philip that his language has exploded, right? It's been sort of extraordinary. He still has the anxiety crap, but the language delays are starting to fade a bit. The kids have been sick the last couple of weeks, and are tired of being cooped up. Not able to play outside very much (it's too cold for as sick as they are) or go out almost at all (I don't want to expose other people to what appears to be RSV) means I've gotten really creative with play areas. Philip has the sick pretty bad. Jilly is a lot better. Philip hasn't been able to eat anything at all today, and had maybe 2 bites full of food yesterday. His sleeping is sucking, too, though he's exhausted. Coughing is disturbing his sleep ( Read more... )

Jilly's had a sinus infection running for a couple weeks. Last Wednesday she told us her nose hurt, that combined with bloody snot on Thursday meant we took her to the doctor on Friday ( Read more... )

I can't seem to decide whether this is awesome or horrible. Or if I'm awesome or horrible for laughing.

Jilly has gotten deeply into robots. She has a little robot that she even likes to take around. She can't pronounce "r" very well, and instead substitutes an "h" sound.

So, this results in her telling us about her hobot.

When the kids were around 10 or so months old, we went on a trip to Ikea. We got four of their awesome little potty chairs. Two for upstairs, two for downstairs. We had no illusion that they would soon be diaper free, but we wanted to introduce them to the idea of sitting on a potty, so it was never a weird foreign concept ( Read more... )

Jilly has really gone far into grokking ownership. She likes to constantly tell me which thing is hers, and which is Philip's. She'll even start telling me which thing is mine, and which is Daddy's. Well, so, this is a bit embarassing. It turns out I took all of one picture in March. One. Of Philip. No other pictures. None of Jilly. I can pretty much blame that on the insanity that was last February. We visited family in New Orleans, did Mardi Gras, and I was just wiped the hell out when we got home.
