"Arugula eating"
I really don't understand politics. I live in a "battleground state", so I get to see all of the political ads whenever I visit someone with a television. So far, the ads attacking Obama seem to be on one of three themes:
- He's smart.
- People like him.
- He eats his vegetables.
Would someone care to explain to me why these are negatives? -
100 Pushups?
Today was my first day doing the Hundred Pushup Challenge". It's a six-week training program with the goal of ramping up from almost nothing (in my case, 10 consecutive pushups) to 100 consecutive pushups. The first day (7/7/5/4/5+ with 60 second rests) was fairly easy, though I really felt the residual soreness from sunday's jiu-jitsu class.

Teaching and rank testing
I've begun, slowly, to view aikido with an instructor's eye. The primary difference in perspective is the change from "What is wrong with his technique, and how can I help him correct it?" to "What is right in his technique, and how can I help him build on it?"
