Sherlock-Stein - Sherlock is curious about Stein because Stein seems a lot like himself! But then Stein proved that he has (fairly) moralistic drives for his experiments (like his students), which repelled Sherlock a bit. Sherlock is still somewhat stuck in the stage where he pretends he has no feelings and thus, doesn't really want to be associated with people who do (except John and Momigi because they're his people damnit). So Sherlock is a bit stuck and sort of left it to Izaya to do stuff so he can keep pretending he doesn't give fucks.

Dean-Stein - Dean keeps his promises (save for that one with his dad derpderp) and he can see the merit of keeping his with Stein. But he's been having a lot of mixed feelings lately, especially considering everything that's happened to him (S6!!!). He doesn't really want to be Stein's leash anymore, but he knows he has to be because he's willing to get his hands dirty and take the blame. Not to mention he's aware that Stein relies on him to do that. He's just starting to

Stein-Sherlock - Stein can tell that they're pretty similar types, except that Stein has had a leash on him since a very young age and has adapted to certain social norms at least partly. Sherlock didn't really have that sort of limitation. And Stein knows it from the way he spoke and grew quickly dismissive. Stein DOES find a great deal of interest in Sherlock because Sherlock. Paused. Instead of just leaving, Sherlock actually stopped, listened to Stein and then continued the conversation to its natural conclusion. This, more than anything, ping'd Stein and will be the very reason Stein will gladly harass Sherlock.

Stein-Dean - Stein CAN tell that Dean's weary of the mad scientist, which is actually part of the reason Stein yanks his chain so much. He sort of wants Dean to say for himself that he wants out of the deal--because gosh, Winchester, if you want something done, do it yourself. Still, Stein is actually doing well for the time being and he actually likes Dean in his... quirky. Stein-ish way. It's kind of a fondness not

I ASSUME YOU IN MEAN IN GENERAL...

Sherlock doesn't get a lot of "joy" in life. Even necessities are extremely boring for him and if it weren't for the fact that dying is even more wasteful, he would have happily walked the plank. So Sherlock basically picks the path where he can find something unusual and he gets to show off. Validation and curiousity in one go! Perfection.

In camp, he just settles for the curiosity bit. He likes having information on everyone, keeping tabs so that he's never sort of surprised or caught off guard. Secondly, there are a hell of a lot of dangerous people in camp and like hell Sherlock was letting them dictate his life or John's (mostly John's). It's partially why he's allowed the Izaya relationship as far as it is. They both know they're useful to the other and it works! GOOD ENOUGH.

Curiosity just ...drives him. Every time he doesn't have an answer, he's gleeful. You can see that much from canon itself. Being outsmarted (for a time) gives Sherlock pure unadulterated joy. And it's enough for him to

Is Elliot happy with Robin?

He is happy, but his happiness is not purely "I'm happy" but instead a whole bunch of emotions that when tied up together probably mean to him that he is happy. He's uncertain because trusting someone like he does Robin is unusual for him. I tend to assume that while Elliot's had crushes he's never really acted on them and ruthlessly stifled any kind of emotional investment in that sense. His not doing that now makes him quite uncertain because this is new! different! He has no idea what he is doing. It's nothing like the books he's read, and it's nothing like he's done before. But it's also exhilarating because it's nothing he's done before; it's new and fragile and belongs to him alone without it being tied to his duty as a Nightray. He's lost and confused, but determined to find a way to make it work somehow because when she looks at him she doesn't see the tragic loss that was his life but instead someone who could still be a knight. It's glorious and he doesn't want to look away from that

Probably not. Rex likes machines, but he's not exactly sciencey. It's not his department (it's Holiday's). HE WOULD DO IT FOR RONAN but no, not for science.

Okay, for obvious reasons, Rex has no idea how to talk to older women. But he has none of these hangups when he's talking to Tosh, mostly because he just didn't think about it and was more curious about Camp and he just wanted to meet as many people as he could before he got sent home. He still thinks she's very cool and very lax, and she seems to like him enough to take him home and show him around and be generally supportive. These are all big things for him so he puts more weight to Tosh's opinion than he would for anyone else in camp, save maybe Legion or Ronan.

Buuut their recent conversation really drove home how different he was from other people, even the people in camp. He's never lived a life free of nanites, free of responsibilities or the way those changes affect him. In a way, it's the greatest thing ever, in another way, he's still the weirdo around. So he spent most of that conversation, being angry, being upset that she didn't get it, and just being unsure of how to relate to what she meant. The very idea of

So Tosh is generally rather socially awkward even when dealing with people her own age since she dedicates like 95% of her time to work back home. And hilariously, the majority of the people she talks to in Camp are under the age of 21, which is a demographic that she is compleeetely unused to dealing with outside of work related things. So when she first started talking to Rex, she was sort of mimicking Gwen's ~friendly and helpful~ nature as to not scare him off.

She doesn't do that anymore though since she genuinely really likes him a lot! He's really friendly, and has a sort of energy that she's... really not used to seeing. She does think he's a little too young to have so much responsibility thrown on him though, and that it might be taking its toll on him. Tosh also finds his powers really fascinating, and she would love to study them, except she knows how bad that would sound. So she won't. Bring it up and will just admire from afar

Here. In a nutshell, Stefan is crazy and needs an outlet for being crazy and being the good guy isn't going to work out when he's off the handle and needs blood to just not collapse from grief and guilt.

Stefan-Damon - Canon was explicit on this. Damon > Everything. Stefan loves him, too much, too unhealthy, and too dependent on him to even consider the idea of Damon dying or getting hurt. The difference between Stefan and Damon is that Damon never really does anything all the way. He feels half-way, he gets angry half-way. When Stefan is off the wagon, every single feeling just comes crashing down and makes his life the equivalent of a living hell. He's almost considering ASKING Klaus just to turn it off because in camp, he has no real way of coping (and feeding on people till they die just doesn't... work). So he's upset! He's angry! He wants everyone to leave him alone until he's forgotten but this is not... working. So he doesn't know what to do god leave me here to wiiiiiiiiiilt. Damon being here is the crux of the way he feels. He just can't stand it, especially since Damon hasn't given up on him.

Kirk-Spock - Okay, Kirk has... a lot of squishy feelings. And he doesn't know what to do about them, doesn't
