this is the Silver Palate's "Chunky Apple Walnut Cake" recipe (with my own interpolations), which I have made frequently with the apples from our tree, usually a couple of times each fall, especailly for Rosh Hashana with my family. It is so very difficult to find the time. For anything. Whenever I have a free moment, all I want to do is curl up on the couch with a blessed blessed book and a mineral water IV... Misc. Gronk and the Horrible Story of the Dead Bird!
Spent mad money at the Scarlet Garden last weekend. I bought a black satin bustle skirt, an absinthe-green cincher (flimsy Catherine Coatney, but I'm already getting one new custom corset, can't afford two), a frilly black blouse and a t-shirt (black, natch) with a green Deco lady on it.
