This past week I learned a bunch about using Ableton Live. I'm happy with my progress on an old song. I've found that breaking down what I need to do with it and putting it in Todoist helps a bunch and makes it seems less intimidating. I am happy with Todoist so far, it's simple and neat. The Cape was full of lovely water and sun. I should feel more motivated to lie in the sun on weekends. There were also swans, who I gave a wide berth to. I then went to a barbecue where I was able to see many old friends, although I feel like I talked insufficiently to many of them (got caught up in swan culture discussions). every hour takes me closer to my aim
John and I visited the Jacobsen Observatory at UW. Learned more about dark energy, theories on dark matter, and possible dark galaxies. We saw Saturn in a telescope. Also the moon and a double star! We had people over for Solstice Parade. Yay for seeing Sarah G and Neal again! There were art cars after the parade, including an Australian car named Bruce II, a car covered in yarn, and a car covered in toys. Met up with Neal (yay) during the week, and look forward to board games with her in future! Also, we saw the Seattle Symphony last week with Olya and Jason! A soloist performed Beethoven’s Violin Concerto- it was a fresh and bright/sweet interpretation. Dvorak’s 6th Symphony followed, and Wallenstein’s Camp by Smetana preceded. The ( Read more... ) -
Memorial Weekend Whidbey Island trip
Saturday morning John and I got up to go to Whidbey Island. We went north to the short ferry and then stopped in Langley at the Spoiled Dog Winery. Apparently they specialize in Pinot Noir. John got a bottle straight from the barrel, so that needs to be aged because it is now in "bottle shock."
