The history and the progression through Brian's life was very well thought out and interesting. I love the way Justin and Michael each tried to rescue Brian in their own ways. A lovely story. Thanks to whoever wrote this for taking the time and effort, and to add to our lovely body of Brian history. Hugs, Sherrie

I'm a sucker for backstory especially Brian's and I found this take to be coherent and believable. I liked Claire as his allie at least when they were young, nicely done.

I weep for that excitable little boy in the first part who slowly dies and learns to protect himself from his parents inside a wall. Brian first seeing his Dad hit his Mom on his birthday? That was heartbreaking to me. Geez, I wouldn't much like birthdays, either. Poor kid. :(

I'm glad the story didn't end there but went on to a more hopeful upswing in his birthdays. I'm not generally a Mikey fan but I like how his dogged enthusiasm keeps Brian from completely shutting down and forgetting his birthday entirely.

You did an excellent job in showing a progression in Brian's journey from a normal, happy go lucky kid into a man caught up in cynicism with a penchant for making cutting remarks.

Very creative, I liked the way you did a history of Brian's birthdays-how the emotional trauma began and how it progressed through Brian's life-and how it sadly changed him. Loved the end, fitting to have Justin give him the best birthday ever.
