I really want to start preparing my garden beds, but this rain just won't let up. At least it's not snowing any more.

Hi all, I am new to this group.  I love to garden in Walterville, Oregon.  I am looking for an in-expensive rain barrel already made up.  Anybody know of some?

I have one spot at the base of my driveway where a puddle of water collects. Without getting into a long-winded description of why, suffice it to say, there isn't a cheap way to fix it.

Are there any plants that just loooove to soak up water? I'd like it to drink my puddle.

First off,  would love to track down this ground cover I've seen before... it sort of looks like wild strawberries, but it doesn't produce strawberries (that I remember). I believe it still produces white flowers. Does anybody know what I'm talking about? If so, do you have any idea where I can get a few starts/seeds of it?

I have a clump of sword ferns that needs to be transplanted. As long as it's going to be dug up anyway, I was thinking of separating it into four sections. Is this possible without killing the plant? And how do I do this? Do I just slice through the clump or is there a more delicate way of accomplishing my goal?

Also, my neighbors kind of suck -- they tend to steal plants. Suggestions for how to keep them in my yard? Flagstone covered beds? Or...??

I promised my husband that I would grow hops this year, but none of my seed catalogues seems to have them. Does anybody know where I could get some? We have a trellis and a fence, but dwarf varieties would still be preferable.
