Just when Longbottom's been mostly trained, I get another holy terror. A first year today managed to explode his cauldron, and the shrapnel from it exploded two more. At least that whole mess blew over fairly quickly. Thank Merlin, for once, for students' short attention spans. With minimal backlash, as well.

Now I just need to get Draco to quit avoiding me so we can have a little talk.

Remus, Dumbledore wants to have a meeting with the both of us this evening. I think it would be wise for us to make it.

Is it possible for students to become less intelligent over the summer? I think my classes grow less apt each year. One second year exploded his cauldron five minutes into class on Friday. That even manages to beat Longbottom's record. Needless to say, he spent his afternoon cleaning the classroom.

In less than two weeks, school will be back in session. I am probably looking forward to it as much as my students are. Another few days and I'll return to Hogwarts to prepare the classroom and my quarters.

I've spent the past two days cleaning out and reorganizing the study. A great number of files are still spread about the floor, and I'm too sick of it all to even look at them right now. I think I"ll just lock the door on it for a week.

The students have left, and after putting my affairs in order, I've returned to my personal dwelling as well.

Two entire months of peace.
