at first, it was annoying. i'd sort through my mail some days and mutter, "they can't even spell my name right!".  other days, i'd roll my eyes because i'd get promotional mailers in duplicate.

after about a year and a half, i've finally figured it out.  i'm getting someone else's mail.  her name is one letter off from mine, but she is definitely ( Read more... )

the title of your entry tricked me - i thought you were going to introduce us to a friend of yours that's single and looking for a nice, funny guy. i was about to take a ticket and wait for my number to be called.

mac is great but bobbi brown is better...

i got the worst service at bobbi brown when shopping for lipstick. seriously, the salesgirl was totally unable to provide guidance when i didn't know what exact color of theirs i wanted. her two coworkers didn't even try to help. makeup people are supposed to be able to tell you what would look good on you!

that's why my loyalties are leaning toward shu uemura...i've had great experiences with each rep i've encountered so far.

oh, yeah, i know what you mean. often times, my mom goes to nordstrom either not knowing the name of the product or not being able to explain it well in english, but the ladies she deals with are patient and point out a number of different products for my mom to look at; i like that.

come to think of it, i do need to pick up powder to "set" my eye makeup because i got some great liner recently but without setting all liners ends up as raccoon eyes on me.

they're so daunting! i always sidestep the stores/counters because they're so intimidating with their dramatic associates and loud music. shu uemura is practically zen compared to MAC.

lol! I like how the address auto-updated itself!

How do you sign up for BR birthday cards?

I think I'll choose not to participate in the MAC conversation? :) "MAC what?"

i don't think you have to sign up...as long as they have your birthday in their database, they send you a $15 gift card every year valid for your birth month.

aaaah! lucky! :D (I never heard of a class action suit, darn it.) Hmm, personally, I love the graphblack(?) techakohl liner, and the metallic eyeshadow set in the Holiday collection is super gorgeous. Got lots of compliments so far on it (the gold shares are beautifully shimmery, yet sophisticated-neutral, and there's a silver/navy blue/black with gold shimmer that would be great for your smokey eye look), and I think it's easily becoming my most-used eyeshadow set, due to its versatility and subtle glamour.

i saw a woman with metallic eyeliner (or shadow so low and thin it just looked like thick liner) on tv last night...it was striking! i don't know when i would ever wear it!!!

probably eye liner, and yeah, that's definitely a dramatic, unique look to pull off... (the eyeshadows are nowhere near that emphatic)
