book recommendations

So, I checked out a local vintage shop and they had quite a few books I was looking at, but wasn't sure to purchase. Truth be told I'm skeptical of anything dealing with theology or mythology, since they're either so out of date its not funny, or just simply re-hashing of myths I already know. pots and herbs
Hmm. I've successfully been able to claim a bit of the backyard for gardening! Or well.. something similar. We ended up landscaping the yard last year, and so the "good spot" of the yard is now filled with rocks and some pretty plants, but not much else. But then there is this little wedge of space between the gardening shed and this upraised bit. ( Read more... ) -

Well, that felt good. Just did a very significant (well, at least in my opinion) cut of my friends list. Okay well truth be told it was mostly communities I wasn't interested in anymore, or dead journals, or layout/icon journals.. or just things I didn't like to read anymore.
I feel good now. :) Squee. -

This song pretty much makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck and my eyes water a little. As much as I bitch about living where I currently do (city-wise)... I still love living in Canada. And I'm proud of be Canadian.

why you shouldn't support this movie financially
ssj10 made a very good post on the inherent racism of the Avatar: The Last Airbender flick. thisficklemob made a comment on the post about the kids acting in this movie, and how its pretty much teaching them that PoC are lesser than white people, and that they should be greatful for white people allowing them to be in the movie, etc.
