I saw a post on a statewide fiberlist ysterday of a woman who was downsizing her spinning stash. The haul included a charkah (Babes's), several spindles including two Bosworth's, a spindolyn with two spindles and a few others. I started a pair of socks on Thursday using the short row toe method. They're far from perfect and I may want to rip them out and try again, but its definitely a possibility for forthcoming toe up socks. Next stop: short row heels, which I haven't tried before.

Yesterday TXU promised we would have power back by the end of the day (meaning 12:00 midnight) so the PTB asked us to come in at 6:00 am or as soon after that that we could. Last weekend I bought a knitting machine from a friend. It's a gently used Singer SR-155 Chunky Punch Card Knitter with ribber and intarsia carriage. Circa 1984. I have successfully set the machine up and knitted a swatch. That was Tuesday. Last night I gave it two more tries and gave up. I just discovered that I have made an error in the pattern. It looks like I am short one point in the edging. This means that there isn't going to be a center point at the bottom of the shawl. I'm going to go ahead and finish the shawl. I'm hoping soft blocking will help make it less noticable.
