So by some miraculous twist of fate, I passed the JLPT and am now officially a level 2 Japanese speaker, one step away from being native fluent. And I do mean miraculous, because it was borderline, but I can't say how happy/grateful I am that I actually passed this one. Just a quick post to say I made it home okay. I don't know how it happens, but I do this every time...I slept all day the day after I came in. Like, until 5:30 in the evening.
