hottest females from the 2009-2010 tv season!
It's that time of year again! I have all but abandoned LJ (other than skimming ONTD), but I'll be damned if I miss iminyourfanclub and my annual hot list. This year we decided to surprise the other with our choices instead of fighting for claim on certain people, so we're open for overlaps! A little late, but here we go! Ladies first...

5. GILLIAN JACOBS / ALISON BRIE - Britta Perry / Annie Edison (Community)
How'd they fare last year? N/A. Community just completed it's freshman season, and while Alison was also on Mad Men, I don't watch it.
What makes them hot? I love Britta because her character is so multifaceted. Just when you think you have her pegged, you find something new out about her. She marches to the beat of her own drum, but is also a little insecure and reliant on others. Gillian plays the part with such subtlety that you believe that Britta really is just that cool. Annie is almost the quintessential ingenue except for the little matter of that drug problem she has. Dressed up in little cardigans, she is so picture perfect cute that you almost forget how hot Alison really is. Personally, I'm Team Britta, but seriously...with these two nobody loses.
Hottest quality? Sass, spunk, and sense of humor.
4. STANA KATIC - Detective Kate Beckett (Castle)
How'd she fare last year? Stana gets an upgrade from the honorable mentions list. I attribute it to better hair and clothing styling for her character.
What makes her hot? Everybody loves a kickass cop and I would venture to say that Stana tops the list of current female officers on TV today. Sorry, Mariska Hargitay. Castle is really starting to hit it's stride, with Stana consistently turning in stellar performances week after week. Add on the fact that she's smokin' and this choice is really a no-brainer.
Hottest quality? Being the baddest bitch in a pack of manly men.
3. DEBORAH ANN WOLL - Jessica Hamby (True Blood)
How'd she fare last year? N/A. Her character really didn't start making an impact until Season 2, which had not aired at the time of last year's posting.
What makes her hot? Um, look at her. She's pretty much flawless and she plays arguably the best character on the show. I feel like I should say more, but I'm pretty sure her hotness really doesn't warrant much more explanation. Everybody knows she's flat-out awesome.
Hottest quality? The prettiest head of red hair on the face of this planet.
2. YVONNE STRAHOVSKI - Agent Sarah Walker (Chuck)
How'd she fare last year? Yvonne is the lone woman standing from last year, holding steady at #2.
What makes her hot? This season delved a little deeper into the character of Sarah Walker and Yvonne managed to handle every bit of it with the grace and charm she always exudes. Yvonne's a bit of a conundrum in that she's very much an every day girl, yet simultaneously so not. She's pretty much still hot for the same reasons as last year, so I think I'll end it with that.
Hottest quality? That incredibly infectious smile.
1 (& 1.5). LEA MICHELE & DIANNA AGRON - Rachel Berry & Quinn Fabray (Glee)
How'd they fare last year? N/A. The world had not yet been blessed with the greatness that is Glee.
What makes them hot? Okay, so I totally cheated with this one. Lea is very much my #1, but it seemed like a waste of a spot to separate her from Dianna since I probably would've ended up putting Dianna at a close 2nd anyway. Plus, putting them together afforded me the opportunity to use the awesome costume picture you see above. While I do love me some Quinn Fabray, I honestly find Dianna to be at her hottest off-screen. There's a whole slew of words you could use to describe her -- sweet, down-to-earth, quirky, amusing, smart, artistic, generous, genuine -- but it's easiest to say she's just Dianna and leave it at that. For as much flack as Lea catches for everything (looks, personality, etc.), I totally love her. Haters gonna hate. Whatever. She's cute as a button (yet still incredibly sexy), confident, and can sing the shit out of pretty much anything. Love (which you should) or hate Rachel Berry, I don't see how people can deny that Lea plays her to a tee. And if you need an example of Lea's fantastic Emmy-nominated acting, just check out Glee's version of "Run, Joey, Run".
Hottest quality? This is going to sound stupid, but for Dianna it's just how much she embraces the good things in life. The girl is perpetually happy and it's hard not to admire that. For Lea, there's just too many to choose just one. Voice, hair, killer legs? Maybe I'll go with her unwavering belief in staying true to herself.
Honorable Mentions:
* CONNIE BRITTON - Tami Taylor (Friday Night Lights)
It was incredibly painful for me to boot her out of the top five, but there were just too many newbies this year that I couldn't pass up. She doesn't need this anyway since she FINALLY got the Emmy nomination that she deserves. You go, girl.
* LINDSEY SHAW - Kat Stratford (10 Things I Hate About You)
Again, I really wanted to put her on the actual list, especially since another one of her shows was unceremoniously cancelled, but it was a tough crowd this year. Hopefully, there will be a spot for Moze in the (near) future.
* SCOTTIE THOMPSON / AIMEE GARCIA - Diana Van Dine / Marisa Benez (Trauma)
Another show gone before it's time. It was a really close call with these two, but in the end, their characters just didn't have as big of an impact as Gillian and Alison's did.
Where'd they go?
* ROSE BYRNE - Rose is still pretty damn hot, but I still really haven't gotten into Damages. Seemed a little unfair to keep her around.
* SOPHIA BUSH - Sophia managed to stick around for three years, but alas, she finally got the axe. I really wish One Tree Hill would just get cancelled. Maybe I wouldn't have to feel so guilty about making this cut.
* LEIGHTON MEESTER - It seems a little crazy that she drops from #1 to completely off the radar, but this season of Gossip Girl was just a mess. No amount of pretty brown hair can save her from that.
