So I see these boys all the time fishing at the lake. They are at that age where they are no longer little ones but they are not quite teenagers yet either. They retain the bodies of boys, not the shapes of gangly teenagers. Adam’s apples have not yet formed and there is nothing to shave on their faces. They care less about girls and more about

As a professional teacher who works with children about this age/slightly older than this...I'd highly recommend a reward for these guys... nothing fancy, maybe some homemade cookies or such...to show them that this sort of behavior is worthy to be continued. Since they go out finishing fairly regularly, it should be easy to catch them sometime when they are out and thank them again with the added benefit of sweets for being such sweet boys. :)

You may not update frequently, but when you do, I make a point to never miss it. Your posts are invariably beautiful, and I really do think you should consider compiling them into a book. People love this kind of stuff, it seems, and while I am not generally sentimental enough to go for it, yours draw out even this cynical old sod's soft side. ♥
