I went for a great ride today - nice and slow since I'm doing a 10k race tomorrow - my hubby and a friend and I went for 55k in 3hrs... real flat, easy ride. It was a beautiful day... wish I could do that more often!!

Well... I'm over half done my Intensive Care Unit (ICU) rotation... only 1 and a half weeks left.

I can't wait for it to be over... not that it's not been useful - but very draining. Lots going on, not much sleep...

This past week I've been doing my Sports Medicine elective - it's going well! There are so many different variations on what I thought were all the same thing... for example "ankle sprain" is not really a good diagnosis. At last!

My last day in Vulcan - finally I get to spend some time at home! But not right away - today I have to drive the Lethbridge for a couple days, then I get to go home.

so yesterday I went for a supposed long run (on the treadmill). I managed to get in 5miles (don't know what that is in km). However even though I was barely at a run pace my HR just kept going up and up and up! I was taking my 10:1 walk breaks, but had to increase the 1 min walk to two minutes to let my HR recover - it was going to 180!!! Way ( Read more... )

Yesterday was my birthday and it was more special this year than any other year!

I delivered at baby on my birthday!!!! At 1:08AM my maternity patient delivered a healthy baby girl (named Abigail)! Nothing could make a better birthday present :)

I'm on call this weekend - Thursday, Friday and Sunday. Which shouldn't be too bad - Vulcan is a pretty slow town! Although we had a major MI on Monday and had to call STARS!! (for those who don't know MI = heart attack and STARS is our air ambulance ( Read more... )
