I had a birthday!
Last year and this year it happened to fall on a weekend, which is always nice. It means I don't have to deal with the dilemma of taking a day off work or being at work and having people comment/not comment on me having a birthday the whole day. 2021 year in review
It's the last day of the year, and so as usual I feel compelled to take some stock, think about the past and future, mentally prepare myself for what's coming and learn what I can of what's gone on.

OMG this month has been killing me. My boss warned me I'd have a "very tough month" but fuuuuuuuuuuck. I went from being reasonably busy to being EXTREMELY BUSY and then a few crises fell on my head and oh my god.
The madness was supposed to end last week, but of course it's been extended until Dec 1st. On the one hand, I keep thinking - just one ( Read more... ) -
an update
I knew, coming out of September with its billion holidays, that October was going to be the hardest month in a while, and hopefully ever, at my new job, but oh boy. We're not even halfway done and oooooh boy.
There are a few things making this month complicated:

It's Yom Kippur, which means literally everything in my country is shut down for 24 hours, including all forms of transport (including private cars), which means it's like enforced vacation from whatever your routine normally looks like.

So I've started a new job! As expected it has swallowed me whole, especially after a year of unemployment and a complete switch in industries besides.
Still getting used to this new life, the new norms and expectations. Here are some random facts:

Tomorrow I start a new job!
I'm very excited, and glad that I don't have to be in the office at 9am on the first day (turns out my entire team will be gone tomorrow so I'll come in at 11 to do admin and in the afternoon supposedly someone will be free to start training me), which is so weird because at my old public sector job they couldn't pay you ( Read more... ) -

I have less than 2 weeks left before I go from being unemployed for a year to being fully employed at a very intense job (*deletes disclaimer about how she might be promptly fired because disability*) and I need you all to know that I've been very good.
