Maddie - a year ago
At this time last year, my sweet Maddie was dying. A year ago today was the day she came home from the vet, for what I hoped would be at least a couple months, but ended up to be just one week. It was worth getting her better as we had an awesome final week together.
Reflecting this week. -
Lizzy
I get to see my former foster Lizzie again! Wow... it's been almost 2 years since we fostered her, so she obviously won't remember me.
I'm helping an ACR adoptathon on the weekend that is not to far from where I live, and Lizzy will be one of the cats there.

Maddie
The day went by without my acknowledging it, at least formally. She was thought about a lot, though as she is most days, but yesterday more than usual.
Three years ago yesterday, a scrawny, severely underweight cat came to stay with us, full of mats and burs and sticks and everything else. Harold named her Maddie - full of mats.

ashes
Picked up Maddie's ashes today. Left a nice card for the vets and the clinic staff. They put Maddie's picture in one of their multi-frames on the wall. I managed not to cry in the vet clinic, though shed many tears at home.
Her urn looks just like Pekoe's, but with a different ribbon. Now I have three cats ashes on my shelf. -
weekend without the Moo
This weekend started horribly... By the time we were ready to leave for the cottage, I didn't want to go and felt really horrible and in a complete bad mood. The trip to the cottage without my Maddie was harder than I imagined it would be (and I did think it would be hard).
