On Oct 30 to Nov 4, M. and I went to Paris. The main goal of our trip was Salon du Chocolat. It's an annual show of chocolate. It's huge. It's awesome. It's money well spent. Here are some pictures.

The day after I decided to go to Nymphenburg Palace. It is not the most popular palace in Munich, but it has two main advantages. The first is being it not very popular, so it is considerably less busy. The second is that it is within the city zone, so getting there is just a matter of hopping on the tram.

On the day later I decided to go to Tollwood summer festival. If I understand it correctly, it started a small hippy music festival, and now it is a big hippy music festival. I went there mostly to wander around - it was too late to buy tickets even if I wanted to.

The major attraction of Munich is Marienplatz. A nice place, overall, not too exciting though

The new city hall tower with the Rathaus-Glockenspiel on top of it. Bunch of figures dancing to celebrate first a marriage of some Bavarian Duke. After that, other dancing figures show the dance to celebrate the end of the plague. It is still danced in ( Read more... )

Not really Stuttgart, but rather a town nearby. On my last day they took me to Esslingen.  It's a lovely town about 20 km from Stuttgart. If you are in the area, do go there.
