I went to a concert last Saturday: The Komische Oper here in Berlin staged Shostakovich's "Lady Macbeth," and the music was FANTASTIC! I'm so glad I got to see it, though I do have to say that some of the staging choices (including these Britney-Spears-backup-dancer-esque triumvirate that would appear when Katarina was thinking about the death of ( Read more... ) -

The music scene over here is wonderful! I've been going to a lot of concerts, and I'm amazed at how well-supported it is by the public. If only we had this kind of mentality over in the States... Even though some of the music is garbled and over-intellectualized, it's still there as a prominent cultural entity, and people are so proud of their ( Read more... ) -

Today was great - I woke up at around 12 and then read a book until I left to go see the Reichstag. Very cool building, but it took all afternoon...
