As far as I know, self-insert fics are generally considered the worst kind of fanfiction. But then I had an idea and it was too much fun to ignore; how about we insert each other? This could include both making your LJ (or other participants, really) friend into, say, a born and bred Gondorian, Sindar, Haradrim or what have you character or finding ( Read more... )

I came across this today and felt obliged to share. It is rather hilarious. The Dwarves look like actual Dwarves and Bilbo has a cute little striped shawl (and is actually played by a chubby middle aged guy, which while less cute is, I suppose, a little more true to the book. The eagle looks sort of like a giant duck, that bow only looks vaguely like something very vaguely bow-shaped. Do I care? No, I don't. I am in fact snickering at how funny distraught stick-Fingon throwing his bow away looks. So.
