It's not fair to be sick on vacation
I've been on vacation since Wednesday, though I spent the first couple of days running around to appointments, etc. I had to have a followup mammogram and ultrasound (still not perfect, have to go back in 6 months), Jack has his annual vet appointment, I needed a manicure & pedicure, needed to get Jack's raw food, and so on. Here comes the snow....
The snow arrived right on schedule. Predictions for for it to start at 11 am, get heavy by noon, and dump perhaps as much as 8" on us by the end of the day. Sure enough, when I looked out my window at 11:03 am today, the snow was just starting. By 12:00 it was coming down pretty heavily, and by 12:30 they closed my office. Biscotti!
I don't know why, but I always get the urge to make biscotti around the holidays. I've made 3 kinds so far today - Christmas (with candied fruit and almonds), Double Chocolate (chocolate dough with chocolate and vanilla chips), and Cinnamon Hazlenut. I have some time off at the end of this month and the plan for now is to spend much of it relaxing at home, catching up on my reading, so hopefully I can put a bit more of a dent in Mt. TBR than I have in the past few months. Here's the list so far:

Stitch N Bitch
Renovations after the flood are slow going. I'm still living in only the upstairs of my apartment, so everything I own is stuffed into my living room/kitchen/dining room and I'm starting to feel really closed in.
