[BR] Roleplay

Could You Kill Your Best Friend?

You're just a regular (or maybe not - it's your choice) high school student until a fated class trip turns your world upside down. Now you're a contestant of the Program - Battle Royale - a Program devised by a ruthless government that pits a random high school class against each other until only one of them remains. You might have friends, enemies, maybe a girlfriend or a boyfriend, but you've got to survive. And so has everybody else. But it isn’t always that simple. Being imprisoned by lethal explosive collars means the chance of escape is pretty much impossible, and being assigned random weapons only makes the nightmare more surreal. It’s you or them - kill or be killed.

And if not? Then there’s the time limit. Three days. Refusing to participate will not only cost you your life, but everyone else’s, too. And remember, there are others more than willing to do anything to avoid that.

The point is: the choice is yours. But it's everybody else's, too.

[BR] Roleplay is admittedly more of a writing competition than a roleplay, although the usual roleplay-niches are still apparent in pre-game (and there's also our own dressingroom: felovadedlol). Rather than use the canon characters (that part of the roleplay is now defunct, but the older versions can still be viewed at br_roleplay), we focus on using original characters, along with original instructors and settings, etc. We take nothing from the original canon except the basic premise and rules of Battle Royale. [BR] Roleplay is for people who enjoy creating their own characters but also enjoy weaving stories between other players, eventually crafting a story as a whole.

To join you need to have a character. A layout for your character profile can be found here on the wiki. Follow that, it’s easy. We accept anyone, so there's no need to app (apart from your character profile, obviously). You can just be starting out or you can be the best writer in the world, it doesn't matter. We're just focused on having a fun game, and hopefully your writing will improve along the way.

There are a few things you need to know before joining:

♠ your character MUST be Japanese, they cannot be an exchange student from America/England/Spain/Etc (mods may accept a character from another East Asian country, but you must have a strong reasoning behind it).

♠ this roleplay requires a lot of commitment, so please take note of that before joining - you don’t want to have to NPC halfway through the version, do you?

♠ be aware that there's a high chance - a very high chance - that your character will die, but please don't let that discourage you.

Please don't be put off by the fact that your character has to be Japanese; we just want to stick to the original canon. You will never need to write in Japanese. For the most part, you only need a name (we have a lovely page on your wiki if you’re having trouble with that). Basic information on the country helps, but isn't a necessity and mods will be happy to answer any questions. (There’s also a very helpful Life in Japan page on our wiki, too.)

Another thing to point out: it's fine if you don't know anything about Battle Royale - you can join anyway! We're focused on original characters and our versions are in no way connected to the actual canon.

So if you’re interested at all, we’d really appreciate it if you could check us out!
