‘Did you know your brother did this?’
Woohyun, Sungjong and Myungsoo had math together right after recess. Woohyun still couldn’t get over seeing Sunggyu like… that. For crying out loud, he was beating up a freshman and calling it a punishment! Why the hell did Woohyun find it so utterly sexy? He kept pondering what kind of masochistic monster he’d become and then realised that Sunggyu was completely bipolar and insane. (Definitely Myungsoo’s brother.) How could someone so pretty and adorable turn into… that?
Myungsoo’s head was in his arms before he sat up and looked at Woohyun with mock surprise. His voice heightened as he ranted dramatically, ‘Oh heavens no! I never would have thought my innocent brother would hurt a living creature in his life!’ Woohyun cringed and Myungsoo’s voice went back to normal. ‘Of course I knew, I don’t live under a rock like Patrick Star.’
‘Then why didn’t you tell me?’ Woohyun asked, eyes widened to an unnatural size that made Sungjong want to gag beside him.
Myungsoo shrugged. ‘What’s the fun in just telling you when you can find out for yourself?’ he asked, leisurely leaning back in his chair. Woohyun’s mouth hung agape and he just stared dumbfounded at Myungsoo with his very stupid expression. The younger gestured to his face and exclaimed, ‘See that, that is fun.’
Disapprovingly, Woohyun shook his head and heaved, exasperated, ‘You and your brother… You’re both completely insane!’
Sungjong giggled, copying down some notes off the whiteboard.
‘And you!’ Woohyun shouted, turning in his chair so he could scold the youngest, ‘You don’t find anything wrong with what he’s doing?’
Sungjong pursed his lips and informed scornfully, ‘Nope, not at all. But if you have a problem with it, you can always confront Sunggyu about it… It just depends on what you think is more important - your opinion on the president’s ways, or your balls.’
Woohyun frowned, deciding to keep his mouth when it came to Sunggyu and the school’s idiotic system.
Myungsoo retreated to his originally position, arms on table, head in arms. ‘Now if you’ll excuse me, ladies, I’m going to restore my energy,’ he yawned, immediately falling into slumber.
‘That hornbag was probably at it again last night,’ Sungjong commented under his breath, opening his text book.
‘What? How the hell did he get laid with Sunggyu in the same house?’ Woohyun asked dumbly, ‘Does he allow that?’
Sungjong glowered at the older student and then shook his head, theorising that West campus students were just plain stupid. He fished out his phone and began to text someone under the table.
-
After math, Myungsoo, Sungjong and Woohyun had physics together, along with Howon. The two youngest naturally sat at the back row with Howon and Woohyun just followed suit, seating beside Myungsoo. It was like the area was reserved for them and the East campus students filed in systematically. Woohyun and the West campus students adapted to not being surprised at their behaviour any longer. Most of the students found it easy to just follow along like sheep and take the seats that were empty, avoiding the back row when Myungsoo, Sungjong or Howon were in their class. They learnt to especially avoid the third row when Sunggyu was in their class. Sunggyu was accustomed to the third row.
When the classroom was filled with everyone present except the teacher, a rather giddy boy skipped over to the back row, right in front of Myungsoo, and smiled gleefully, saying, ‘Last night was fun, ha?’
Myungsoo’s head emerged from his folded arms and he audibly scoffed at the boy. He then ignored him and went back to sleeping. The boy frowned and went away, back to the front of the classroom.
As he left, Sungjong gave Myungsoo’s sleeping figure a disgusted face, shook his head and opened his text book.
‘Does he do this often?’ Woohyun queried, looking pointedly at Myungsoo. This meaning one-night-stands.
Sungjong jeered with a bitter smile, ‘He’s not the only one, is he?’
Raising an eyebrow, Woohyun cleared up, ‘Those are just rumours. I’m not really like that.’
‘How many times did you get laid during summer?’
Woohyun blinked, busted. ‘That’s different,’ he offered.
‘How?’
‘I don’t have a brother and parents living in the same house.’
Sungjong relented and switched his attention to the lesson instead, sick and tired of the conversation. Woohyun was just as bad as Myungsoo and that was it. End of discussion. The youngest began writing notes down after Howon lent him a pen when he saw that Sungjong’s had run out of ink.
Woohyun spent the duration of class thinking about Sunggyu and his split personality. He definitely underestimated Sunggyu. The way everyone treated him was not a mystery anymore. He was sure that the West campus students knew what they were dealing with now and registered to not be caught doing anything against school rules or they’ll be punished. And as Woohyun thought deeper, he pondered, ‘How the hell am I supposed to beat that?’ He needed to find Sunggyu’s weaknesses, his insecurities. But how the hell should he start?
After class, Sungjong slapped Myungsoo hard across the back to wake him up, obviously still a little pissed with him. The four boys walked out of the class casually, Myungsoo stretching as he walked. Howon drifted off somewhere in the opposite direction and Sungjong had a sneaky suspicion that Dongwoo was involved.
Myungsoo was still groggy, but when he called someone on his phone, his mood immediately lit up. ‘It’s lunch time. Where are you?’ he cooed through the device.
Woohyun leaned over to Sungjong and muttered quietly, ‘Is he talking to Sungyeol?’
Myungsoo smiled unconsciously as Sungyeol replied, ‘What does it matter to you?!’
‘You’re hiding, aren’t you? You’re probably hiding next to the vending machine in the cafeteria,’ Myungsoo chuckled brightly.
Sungjong shot the OK sign with his fingers at Woohyun and mouthed: ‘Definitely Sungyeol.’
‘…How did you know that?’ Sungyeol mumbled dejectedly.
Myungsoo laughed this time and hummed sweetly, ‘Don’t move. I’m coming over there.’ He hung up and slid the phone back into his pocket.
Wriggling his eyebrows suggestively, Woohyun wrapped an arm around Myungsoo’s shoulders and mentioned, ‘Kim, I’m beginning to think you actually have a little thing for my Sungyeol.’
‘Well, you are delusional. And I’m one hundred percent sure you have a very big thing for my brother,’ Myungsoo replied.
Sungjong smirked at Woohyun and added, ‘I agree.’
Woohyun rolled his eyes and groaned, exasperated, ‘How many times do I have to tell you?’
The second youngest rose his hands up in defence and rambled, ‘I know, I know. You can’t be bothered with Gyu since you can have anyone you want and blah, blah, blah.’ He pestered, tapping Woohyun’s face with the back of his hand, ‘But come on, rate my brother out of 10.’
Woohyun shoved him until he clashed into Sungjong. ‘Based on what?’ he muttered.
‘The whole package.’
Woohyun thought carefully for a while, ‘Student body president Kim Sunggyu? Two-faced Kim Sunggyu? Almost-gave-me-a-boner-yesterday Kim Sunggyu?’
‘…Six, maybe?’ he answered unsurely. (Sungjong almost threw his books at Woohyun’s face. ‘Yeah right, six my ass.’) ‘How about you? Rate Sungyeol.’
‘Zero.’
Sungjong huffed in disbelief, ‘You’re kidding.’
‘Hey, everyone’s got to start from somewhere,’ Myungsoo shrugged smugly and continued walking.
Woohyun taunted evilly, ‘A kiss is a starting point for you?’
While Myungsoo’s eyes widened (‘How the hell did he know that?’), Sungjong toppled over in laughter.
Sensing Myungsoo’s confusion, Woohyun explained cheerily, ‘Sungyeol told me. It was pretty fucking hilarious.’
Myungsoo smiled, looking at the ground, and muttered quietly, ‘The kiss happened before the starting point.’
‘What do you mean?’ Woohyun looked confused.
When Myungsoo raised his head back he, he spotted the sight of something he knew all too well, but still dreaded. ‘Uh-oh,’ he exclaimed, stopping in his tracks.
Woohyun stopped too. He followed Myungsoo’s vision and saw a very pissed-off looking Sunggyu right in front of him, a long wooden ruler sitting comfortably in his right hand. Sunggyu’s eyebrows creased together and he was biting the corner of his lip, breathing steadily. Woohyun wanted to punch himself for being turned-on again.
‘Kim Myungsoo, come here right this instant!’ Sunggyu shouted, the whole hallway silencing at the sound of SBP’s familiar voice. Pretty much everyone fled from the fourth floor because of the sound.
Myungsoo was stunned and remained in his spot, eyes glazing over. Sunggyu huffed the hair out of his face and stormed closer and closer. Sungjong’s arms were crossed, gentle smile playing at his lips. Woohyun watched intently, somewhat hypnotised.
The oldest grabbed his brother by the ear and growled, ‘Mum and I were sleeping, you little brat! Do I need to neuter you?!’
‘Hyung, hyung! I swear I didn’t do anything…or anybody!’ Myungsoo pleaded, trying to pout cutely but failing because it was Sunggyu, not some horny fangirl.
He slapped Myungsoo’s head with the ruler, giving him a taste of what was to come. ‘Don’t you dare try to act innocent!’
Myungsoo struggled to look over his shoulder and shout at Sungjong, ‘You told him, didn’t you?! You sadistic bastard!’
‘I love you, Myungsoo. Have fun!’ Sungjong giggled happily, enjoying Myungsoo’s torture way too much to be normal. Woohyun stared stupidly at the way Sunggyu’s collar bone peeked through his shirt.
‘Excuse me,’ Sunggyu said to Woohyun politely, knocking the other out of his daze, ‘You’ll have him back soon, I assure you.’
Sunggyu pulled his victim’s hair and began hauling him off into the nearest classroom.
‘Hyun, save me!’ Myungsoo shrieked, feeling death mocking him.
The door slammed shut, muffling Myungsoo’s outbursts of pain and suffering, inflicted by his own brother. Woohyun stammered, not sure whether to reach out and grab the door knob or not, ‘S - Should I?’
‘Let him go. Myungsoo’s just being a whiny baby.’ Sungjong waved his hand. ‘Unless you, you know, want to meet Sunggyu-hyung behind the bleachers.’
Woohyun cursed under his breath and shivered at the thought, walking off with Sungjong.
-
‘Why did you kiss me?’ Howon asked as soon as he saw Dongwoo at his locker. The older student securely closed the locker and pouted.
‘Why? You didn’t like it?’ he mumbled, sounding disappointed.
Howon’s expression didn’t change as he said, ‘I’m curious.’ Dongwoo smiled to himself because Howon kind of hinted that he did not dislike the kiss and that he was only curious to why Dongwoo kissed him.
Dongwoo thought over his reply for a good minute or two. He didn’t know if Howon was ready for: ‘I have a crush on you and I know you like me.’ Howon might not have been ready for it, he might not have realised that he had feelings for Dongwoo. It came easily to Dongwoo, but Dongwoo saw how hard it was for Howon to come to terms with emotions, so he decided that no. No, he shouldn’t tell him just yet.
‘I don’t know why I did it. It just happened,’ Dongwoo shrugged and grabbed Howon’s bandaged forearm. ‘Let’s go hang out with the others today.’
-
‘Hey, hyung,’ Myungsoo sang as he sat at the table, slinging an arm around his brother’s shoulders. He then threw Sungjong a fowl look from across the table, receiving a wholesome smile in return. The pain on his back was stinging and Myungsoo was pretty sure there were rectangular bruises all over his skin.
Sunggyu threw the younger’s arm off and scoffed. ‘I’m not talking to you,’ he muttered, eating his sandwich.
Myungsoo whined, ‘How could you be so childish? Isn’t that what I have Sungyeol for?!’
‘Oh so you have Sungyeol?’ Sungjong pointed out mockingly.
‘Stay out of this, pipsqueak!’ Myungsoo snapped, turning his attention back to his brother, ‘Hyung, seriously, Hyun’s coming over after school and -‘
‘Why?’ Sunggyu barked, eyes widened. He gave Myungsoo a knowing eyebrow raise which hinted something that made the other want to gag.
‘Hyung, that’s disgusting. Just… no, okay? Not like that.’ Myungsoo shivered at the thought of him and Woohyun doing the nasty. Definitely not pleasant. ‘And don’t you think I’ve learnt my lesson?’
‘In that case, you should’ve learnt your lesson after your sixteenth birthday party when I caught you with some university dropout. Do you remember how long it hurt for after I beat you?’ Sunggyu sneered, grinning heartlessly.
Myungsoo dismissed him and asked instead, ‘So Hyun can come, right?’
The oldest punched his brother’s shoulder softly and sighed, ‘Mum’s going to smother him if she comes home early.’
‘Not my problem.’ Myungsoo smirked to himself, thinking cynically, ‘I’m going to be your problem, hyung.’ He then yapped at Dongwoo and Howon, who were both in their own little world across the table, ‘And you two! You guys dating?’
Dongwoo took a second to peek at Howon, who was staring back per usual, beside him, and calmly replied, ‘No.’
‘Huh.’ Myungsoo said matter-of-factly, ‘Howon doesn’t do people.’
Sunggyu derided, ‘Of course not. It is your job, is it not?’
Sungjong and Dongwoo cracked up in laughter. It was even funnier that Sunggyu said it.
Myungsoo tilted his head in astonishment and exhaled, ‘My brother just classily called me a slut.’ Hearing a familiar voice, Myungsoo looked up to the sight of Sungyeol doubling over in laughter as a very pissed-off Woohyun pushed him towards their table.
‘Shut up, you dickhead!’ Woohyun growled as Sungyeol’s laughter grew. In his close-to-hysterical state, Sungyeol didn’t notice it when Myungsoo pulled him to sit next to the younger.
Sungjong questioned, ‘What happened?’
‘I was born a genius, that’s what!’ Sungyeol announced to the cafeteria before sitting back down and falling into a fit of high-pitched giggles. Myungsoo laughed at him for being adorable.
Everyone turned their attentions towards Woohyun and thought, oh that’s why he’s laughing so hard.
‘Sungyeol, you’ve really out done yourself this time,’ Dongwoo commented before covering his mouth with his hand as he felt laughter take over him.
‘Lee Sungyeol, you are dead to me,’ Woohyun jeered, narrowing his eyes at the said boy who was still in glee and almost falling into Myungsoo’s lap.
‘Sunggyu-hyung, he hurts my eyes.’ Sungjong covered his eyes with his palms in emphasis and started giggling silently. Sunggyu took a closer look and realised that Woohyun was covered in glitter. (Sunggyu found out later that Sungyeol glitter bombed him as he got out of lunch-time detention. Poor Woohyun… Okay, not really.) Biting his lip, Sunggyu suppressed the laughs that were threatening to become audible.
Myungsoo tried to hold back his laughter as he said, looking pointedly at Woohyun who was still standing, ‘I think I’ve seen this from a vampire movie or something.’
‘Aren’t you going to help me, student body president?’ Woohyun probed, staring at Sunggyu’s red, bitten lip subconsciously.
Sungjong rose his hand and declared to the whole cafeteria, ‘Woohyun’s the glitter body president!’ Sungyeol really did fall into Myungsoo’s lap this time, from the stupid joke.
‘It’s like you just came out of a gay bar,’ Dongwoo chortled, finding refuge at Howon’s shoulder as Woohyun nudged him with his shoe.
Myungsoo raised his hands. ‘Firstly, gay bars are fun, full of hot guys, and it is a misinterpretation that glitter is everywhere. Secondly…’ He turned to his brother with a leer. ‘Gyu should go help him.’
‘It’s glitter. What do you want me to do?’ Sunggyu complained as Myungsoo motioned him to stand up.
Woohyun scoffed, ‘Well, I’m not going to class looking like Katy Perry’s hairbrush.’
Sunggyu sighed, defeated, ‘Alright, let’s go to the art department.’
Everyone burst out in hysterical laughter and Sunggyu registered what he said and waved his hands to calm them down.
‘I really mean it! We need to get tape,’ he insisted, signalling Woohyun to follow him.
-
They strolled to the art supplies storage room of the school, Woohyun leaving a shimmery trail behind him. (At least they could find their way back.) Sunggyu received the set of keys from a teacher and let himself and Woohyun in. They began rummaging for masking tape and eventually found a stack of it. Woohyun sat on a chair as Sunggyu started sticking the tape on him before peeling it off to rid the glitter off Woohyun’s clothes.
Sunggyu was cleaning Woohyun’s chest, his school blazer, and he snorted upon seeing how much glitter there was and that there were heart-shaped sequins too.
‘What?’ Woohyun huffed, smiling at the teasing expression Sunggyu was making, the earlier image of Sunggyu punishing temporarily forgotten because of Sunggyu’s cute face. Woohyun always fell for the cute ones.
‘Sungyeol is… a troublemaker,’ Sunggyu stated, twitching his head, ‘Him and my brother really do match.’
Of course Sunggyu realised Myungsoo’s odd fascination towards Sungyeol. His brother never really harassed someone for more than a day and Myungsoo had been harassing Sungyeol for the entire week. It was definitely something that made him suspicious over Myungsoo’s denial towards any infatuation to the unbearably adorable boy. Honestly, he wanted Sungyeol as his little brother because he was sick of Myungsoo and Sungjong just wasn’t cute anymore.
He proceeded to place the tape on Woohyun’s shoulders and as he pressed the tape down for assurance, he felt how hard Woohyun’s muscles were. Sunggyu’s lip quirked a little. Kneeling down, he continued down Woohyun’s (very toned) arms, back up to his (very toned) chest and slowly worked his way down, biting his lip. He cautiously stuck the tape over Woohyun’s shirt and pressed down on his abdomen, immediately liking what he felt. Yep, Woohyun must’ve worked out a lot and it might or might not have been a turn-on.
Once he was done to Woohyun’s belt, he stood back up unsteadily, gripping one of the shelves to support himself. Sunggyu cleared his throat and said, ‘You need to put tape there.’
Woohyun, who had did nothing but stare intensely at Sunggyu’s beautiful hands, finally smirked up at the other and although he knew exactly what Sunggyu was talking about, he asked, ‘Where?’
Sunggyu motioned to his crotch, ‘There.’
Oh this was too fun and Woohyun wanted to make the most out of Sunggyu’s help. He supplied a seductive gaze as he questioned lowly, ‘Why can’t you do it for me?’
The daringness in Woohyun’s eyes said it all and Sunggyu couldn’t help but want to prove Woohyun wrong - He didn’t verbally imply that Sunggyu was too embarrassed to touch him there, but Sunggyu knew he meant it. Sunggyu scoffed and willingly took up the challenge. He knelt back down, placing a hand on Woohyun’s knee to steady himself. Woohyun’s breath hitched unwillingly and he had to bite the inside of his cheek to stop himself from choking at the simple touch. Sunggyu rolled off a few lengths of masking tape, using his teeth to rip them apart. He then gently placed them onto Woohyun’s pants and looked up at the younger with playfulness evident in his eyes. The corner of his lip was gently risen as one of his hands hovered over Woohyun’s crotch area. Then it pressed down and Woohyun’s heart stopped, his lungs forgetting to breathe.
Sunggyu nonchalantly stripped the tape off, rose to his feet and placed the tape in the bin, on top of the pile of the other used tape. Dusting off his hands, he exclaimed smoothly, ‘Happy?’
Woohyun’s jaw was slacked as he looked up at the older from his chair. He blinked a few times before chuckling bluntly, ‘SBP, you just touched my crotch.’
‘You didn’t stop me,’ Sunggyu retorted.
Woohyun blinked blankly a few times again.
‘Do it again.’
‘Why don’t you do it? I’m sure you have experience.’
‘I don’t think I’ve ever removed glitter from my crotch area before,’ Woohyun mused. He then looked up at the ceiling and tapped his chin, correcting himself, ‘Actually, maybe once before.’
‘You’re unbelievable.’ Sunggyu shook his head. ‘Lift your arm up.’
Sunggyu cleaned up the underside of his sleeves, concentrating on the glitter rather than Woohyun’s triceps or how close their faces were - That was a fact he definitely didn’t want to think too deeply about. Before he could clean the last section, he heard a piece of tape being ripped and then he felt fingers high up on his right thigh. Sunggyu tensed, his actions freezing. The fingers slowly spread the expanse of tape neatly across his thigh muscle, until it was flat against his leg, and then it was slowly pried off.
‘It’s on you now,’ Woohyun uttered hoarsely, gazing up at the older through his fringe - Sunggyu felt the hot breath of his cheek and felt his fingers twitching.
Sunggyu took in a sharp breath, swallowed thickly and claimed, rising to a standing position, ‘I should go now. I need to speak with the principal.’
Pouting, Woohyun carefully inspected the black tee under his school blazer. ‘But I’m still glittery,’ he complained.
Without turning back, Sunggyu opened the door and made his leave, laughing lightheartedly, ‘You’re popular. Start a new trend.’
The door half-closed and Woohyun ruffled his hair in frustration.
‘Dammit,’ Woohyun thought, ‘Almost had him.’
-
Dongwoo and Howon were talking about something Myungsoo didn’t really care about - not that he could hear them, anyway. They were having a quiet conversation, probably about boring things. ‘Not dating, my sexy ass.’
Sungjong left for pottery club a while ago - Why? Myungsoo had no fucking clue. And so Myungsoo was left with Sungyeol who was stuffing his face, probably in an attempt to not talk to him. Once he finally swallowed, Myungsoo whispered, ‘Skyscraper, I have a plan.’
‘A plan? For what?’ Sungyeol responded, spitting his desert everywhere. Myungsoo wiped away the chocolate from his bottom lip and Sungyeol didn’t seem to mind, for once.
Myungsoo deadpanned, ‘Look, are you going to help me or not?’
He wanted specifically Sungyeol’s help for his scheme because he saw how effortlessly Sungyeol completely humiliated Woohyun. How he retrieved the glitter and sequins from the supply room without keys or getting caught was pretty impressive. And Myungsoo couldn’t possibly fulfil the mission on his own.
‘Help you? Sure, after Howon does the dougie,’ Sungyeol sneered.
‘Sarcasm’s my thing. It doesn’t suit your pretty lips,’ Myungsoo cooed, tapping Sungyeol’s bottom lip in emphasis. The latter tried to literally bite his fingers off, but to no avail. Myungsoo was stronger and faster than he was. After Sungyeol had calmed down, Myungsoo tried to persuade him, ‘Come on. Don’t you think Hyun and Gyu-hyung would make the perfect miss-matched couple?’
Woohyun’s love life was involved? How could Sungyeol possibly say no?
‘I’m in.’
