for some reason, laptops, in general, just suck, but everyone seems to have a great experience with macbooks. I'm pretty much the only person I know who has ever had so much trouble with mine, but I think it might have been fucked up from the start. I can attest for the apple warranty policy because I have had to use it like 4 times <33333 no but seriously, I don't really care what happened to my computer because every time they fix it in less than 45 minutes and don't charge me a thing (because I have applecare). my hard drive has failed me 3 times during midterms/finals lol and it has always been stressful but I know it would have been a complete MESS had I owned a pc. the third time the guy was like okay, we're going to send your computer away because something is wrong, give it back to us when you can go without using it for a few days. so basically, they rule. er, the company rules. the geniuses that have helped me have been sort of clueless when it came to the actual workings of the hardware, but very few people know about ( ... )

yeah see like ive had the same problem with my dell and it takes them like a week to fix it each time. the only difference is that my harddrive is usually intact. ill just have to be super vigilant about backing my shit up regularly. also, my friend told me that when kids our age bought macs before going to college, they all got defective harddrives that crashed in like 2 years? dunno if thats true but it makes sense

If viruses are your main issue then the Mac will be worth $1000. I would never go back to a PC (Mac + iPhone here, obviously), but just some things to be wary of ( ... )

i don't know anyone that hasn't had a problem with a mac. i think laptops in general are problem prone. i'd stick with pcs. i really don't think mac's are worth nearly as much they charge for them.

you can get a much better pc for 1,000 than a mac.
