I really got teary reading one of juju's posts the other day. She was talking to a friend who knew exactly what she had to do to lose weight but just couldn't get going.
But she just can’t seem to get started.

I have to keep reminding myself that it's about choices. I get so frustrated with myself for not losing weight but the simple fact is that I can't directly control whether I lose or not. I can control what I eat and drink. I can control what exercise I get. I can control how much sleep I get. Setting goals and having a plan for all these ( Read more... )

I've decided to put future entries of this nature in my 'regular' journal, http://laurelyn.livejournal.com. Trying to keep them segregated isn't as straightforward as it seems, and I'm sure anybody who's bored or irritated by my burbling is capable of using the Page Down key.

Oh, and Monday I did the cul-de-sac course again. Got it down to 31:30, so I may yet break half an hour.

Sad for me that my race pace even for a 5K is slower than lots of people can even stand to run. Oh well.

Do I tote running clothes up to NJ, or is that just a waste of space? I think I ought to. It may be my last chance to run in cool weather until October or so.

I did the Cul-de-Sac 5K course after work tonight. Unless we have a sudden cold, dry spell (in July, in Richmond, sphfffft!) I think I may be kissing goodbye to my hopes of bettering my 30:35 mark of last year. Or unless race day adrenaline goes a lot farther than I think it will ( Read more... )
