I've thought of a bunch of post ideas over the last few weeks. I had a Columbus Day one, two political ones, some sports thoughts, one about my great girlfriend, one about money, and even one about airplanes. But every time I come to LJ, I got nothin'.

Rhode Island, like the rest of the country, is in a heap of trouble financially. We have a huge deficit and the new budget calls for cuts everywhere. There's not enough public funding going into our public transportation. Our public transportation also gets their money from gas sales. When I was looking for a new apartment, I was really hoping to get a two bedroom. Sure, there's only one of me, but the more space the better. Twitter is really annoying. I can't even bring myself to read those posts.

But anyways, I'm back to work today. I feel like I got hit by a truck and I'm exhausted. I need another vacation. Also, I need dinner. Luckily I have a steak waiting for me in the fridge.

I dropped my car off for inspection on Monday morning and I figured there'd be a few things wrong with it. It's getting up there in age and I don't pretend that it's anything more than a piece of junk. But when he called me back on Monday things sounded pretty good. When I had my last review I found out that the days I call in sick count against my absence total even when I have a doctor's note. I'm not sure how they came up with their system, but you need to be out at least three days in a row for it to not count against you. At the very least, that's a system I can take advantage of.
