An excess of time has led me to realise that I need to pick up a new hobby.

I fence, I ride, I drink, I read books, I shoot things, I watch a lot of films, I fling arrows, I hit my mates in fields and I spend a weekend a month down in Toon at school but they all require either other people being present or being in specific places at specific times ( Read more... )

Maslow had it about right- scarily I am missing  parts of the first rung, let alone close to anything else higher up. On a more mundane level- buckets of tea, Radio 4, chocolate, marmite, battenberg cake and cigarettes.

I am now an uncle as of 16.50 hrs this afternoon when my niece was born to my sister and her husband.

I am now laying in stocks of finger paints, tin drums and Red Bull in anticipation of meeting young Poppy ;-)

Life may be resolving itself but we shall see
