Had a massive post planned but am zonked as you will see.

In short-
Went to Buittle for two days' riding

Arrived friday afternoon- got pissed.

Got up at sparrowfart saturday- mucked out, ate breakfast, spent six hours in the saddle on three different horses (dozy donkey, second best gelding and best gelding) to learn the diferences between the mounts ( Read more... )

I have spent the morning battling the NHS- one person telling me one thing, others telling me differently, others just never replying. I have been waiting for a week to start, then being reported for swearing down the phone at a secretary (I didn't- I made very sure the phone was off before swearing at her!) when I tried to point this out and ( Read more... )

Just had my shotgun licence interview with the very nice firearms officer.

I am now ticketed in all but having the bit of paper in my hand- happy happy! He even threw in an Acquire and Use ticket to speed things up for me- joy joy!

Note to self: When on nightshift with people you have never met before and they ask why you fence, shoot guns and ride horses don't reply "So when the zombies come I will be prepared" in a deadpan fashion and walk out of the room.

However I think it must have gone down alright as they have asked me to apply for a supply/relief job with them-joy!

Some damn decent fella has whacked a load of rare "Big Knights" episodes on Youtube- now you can see my inspiration when in armour :-)
Where else would you hear Brian Sewell and Brian Blessed working together?
