Arrived early to work on Tuesday, did my premise check and nothing was amiss. Did my paperwork and opening inventory, did the computer entries, then went out for a smoke and saw a truck parked in back of our store. June 20, 2007 was a typical summer afternoon despite a large fight which broke out around 4:30 pm at Elizabeth and Nichols Sts. After dinner, the kids all came out to play and soon my end of the block had over 30 children socializing and playing, with nearly a dozen adults out and about relaxing and enjoying the warm weather. As most of you might know, I start work now at a VERY early hour and also walk to work. During late June/early July, I took note of a Mockingbird singing at the train station every morning. On Thursday, 12 April 2007, Utica (NY) Police Officer Tom Lindsey of the Tactical Squad made a routine traffic stop. This resulted in Tom being shot in the head several times. Tom Lindsey was brutally murdered on this date.

On Wednesday, 18 April, Tom was laid to rest. Here are some photos.
