I think I've just figured out why I find D&D 4th edition at once a little unsettling and a little appealing: It's fucking ExaltedThink about it. You have Dragonblooded (Dragonborn), Fair Folk (Eladrin), and Abyssals (Tieflings) all as base character races, plus the standard Tolkienesque fare of humans, dwarves, elves, and halflings. Ted Kennedy was going to speak at Wesleyan's commencement this year, and I was looking forward to that. Unfortunately, he has brain cancer, so now he can't. Fortunately, Barack Obama is going to replace him.

Let me say that again. Barack Obama. Is going to speak. At Wesleyan's 2008 commencement. And I'm going to see him.

I just ordered a laptop worth over $2800 with a carrying case and lapdesk/pillow thing that put it over $2900. Because of Epic's relationship with Dell, I got it for a little less than $2300 after tax, and Epic will give me an interest-free loan for that, paid back over the next two years automatically out of my paycheck. <$100 per month for a ( Read more... )
