Fluffy Tuesday again! (and I didn't miss it this week...) Anyways, the challenge was to write out of your comfort zone. So I wrote Narcissa/Lucius fluff, since I think their marriage was more arranged, than that they were in love... It's rather short, but hey...whatever...;) Anyways, set right before the fateful Halloween night ( Read more... )

Heee, I can't tell you how many times I've read scenes where a bit of intimacy was interrupted by a baby's cry, and some how it is so much funnier when the same exact thing happens to Lucius Malfoy! Oh, that cracks me up! So I wonder if the house elf was Dobby and if he woke up Draco because Lucius was short with him??? Do House Elves get passive agressive?

Amazingly, you've made Narcissa likeable, when I wouldn't normally consider her anything of the kind, and all while making her character believable and understandable. Wonderful job!

Thalia,

this is a really very very interesting look into a ship that normally gives me the shivers, but you've done it so well. I cannot (repeat cannot) imagine what life was like on the Malfoy side of things before October 31, 1981...they're such a scary bunch.

But you've done a wonderful turn with them, making Narcissa seem a kind and loving mother (which she actually is, she's just nuts is all) and Lucius a doting servant (which he is).

Wonderful job for thinking outside the box!!!!

You have Cissy and her dedication to the baby down. Straight away, at one sound from Draco, she stands up and goes to him. No wonder he ended up so spoiled and my fluff was hard to write! LOL

Seriously, you did make the Malfoy's fluffy. Well done.

Hi Thalia, Your post reminded me that I still needed to boogey on over here. So far, you're 2/2 on entertaining me. I liked the opening line again, in which Narcissa "shivered" and "gazed aimlessly". She does comes across as fragile and insipid (at least up to OOtP) in canon, so this was spot on. The thing that keeps me open minded about Narcissa in the books is the fact that she's a caring mother, so I liked that you brought that to the front... Clever spell, too! I stumbled on "Lucius grunted". Gosh, Lucius is portrayed as so sleek and slippery that I think of him as using some other action. Did you know that a Narcissa is a Daffodil? I didn't know that until recently. I like to think about people's animagus forms or namesake flowers when I'm musing on their characterizations. Imagine what kind of flower Bella would be *shudders*. Anyway, I certainly wonder about Narcissa, how the marriage came about (arranged is very plausible) and whether Lucius is a domineering husband. Good job taking the other side!! Zia

I hadn't had the time to read this yet, but I'm glad that I took the time!
I'm too tired to give advice, so I'll just say: "Yay for you!" and "I love it!"
:)
